Why this workshop?
This workshop was born in a college classroom. I spent two years teaching Interior Design at the University of Central Arkansas—formal education wasn't quite for me. Grading assignments? Not my thing.
When Covid hit and client projects were paused, I asked myself, “What else can I do?” That’s when I launched an online design camp for high schoolers, teaching the fundamentals of interior design. It was a blast—but I kept thinking, adults need this too. Not because they want to become designers, but because they want to make their homes feel beautiful and personal without the guesswork.
That’s why I created The Design Essentials Program—to give everyday people the tools, rules, and confidence to design their own spaces. But even then, something was missing. I missed the classroom energy, the in-person conversations, the questions that make you pause and see things from a new perspective. I missed seeing people’s excitement when it all clicks.
That’s why this workshop exists.
Because design isn’t magic—it’s a skill you can learn.
And when you learn it, you can own it.

No, all supplies will be provided. You can choose to create your style mood board digitally. In that case, you will need your phone or other device.
